The pair were scheduled to board a flight to Honolulu, Hawaii, Lowe said. West's publicist declined to comment Thursday. The arrest was first reported by TMZ, which posted video showing a man in a gray hooded sweatshirt, identified by the celebrity gossip site as West. The man throws a camera to the ground. Another man in a red jacket grabs the shooter holding the video camera. The next frames show security intervening. TMZ reported that it was its videographer who was attacked. Lowe said police were interviewing witnesses and that West and Crowley will be booked at a Los Angeles Police Department station in Culver City. West closed the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night, which was held at Paramount Studios lot in Hollywood. The singer has a history of flaring his temper. After not winning any awards at the VMAs in 2007 despite several nominations, West declared he would never return to MTV and yelling at reporters. The year before, he crashed the stage at the MTV Europe Music Awards and unleashed an expletive-filed tirade after his video "Touch The Sky" failed to win an award. According to Associated Press

Renée Fleming Citation
The American soprano Renée Fleming receives the 2008 Polar Music Prize in recognition of her sublime unparalleled voice and unique stylistic versatility. Connoisseurs and the general public alike have been dazzled by the beauty of her soft and natural voice, which is equally supple in every register and exudes sensitivity in every tone. With apparent ease and brilliant command, she takes on the entire operatic
repertoire, from Handel to principal parts in newly penned operas. Concert audiences over the world have all been captivated by Ms. Fleming's magnetic stage presence. She holds a truly exceptional position among the world's singers.

Pink Floyd Citation
The 2008 Polar Music Prize is awarded to the British group Pink Floyd for their monumental contribution over the decades to the fusion of art and music in the development of popular culture. Through extensive sonic experimentation, they captured the mood and spirit of a whole generation in their reflections and attitudes. Pink Floyd managed to evolve and create exciting music and albums over the years, from Piper at the Gates of Dawn to the monumental Wall they built in 1979 and their last The Division Bell in 1994. And also made us all discover the Dark Side of the Moon. When rock'n'roll developed, Pink Floyd was foremost in shaping the sounds that would influence artists for ever.

The laureates will receive the prize from His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden at a gala ceremony at the Stockholm Concert Hall to be followed by a celebratory banquet at Grand Hôtel on Tuesday the 26th of August. The event, which is broadcast on national television (TV4), attracts international media, members of the international music business, celebrities, artists, musicians, government ministers, politicians and leading members of society and industry.



A whole weekend of activities is being planned under the name of Polar Music Prize Week, encompassing exhibitions, workshops, seminars, film screenings and live
performances at various locations in Stockholm. This is an important area of expansion for the prize and it is a means for increasing both local and international awareness of the Polar Music Prize.

Each recipient receives a total amount of one million Swedish Crowns, which is equivalent to approximately USD 164.000 or EURO 106.000.



The Polar Music Prize was founded in 1989 by the late Stig "Stikkan" Anderson, one of the true greats in the history of popular music. As the publisher, lyricist and manager of ABBA, he played a key role in their enormous success. 
Its name stems from Anderson´s legendary record label, Polar Records. The Polar Music Prize is one of the most prestigious and unique music prizes in the world, crossing over musical boundaries and awarded to individuals, groups and institutions in recognition of exceptional achievements.



The board of the Stig Anderson Music Award Foundation includes representatives from the Stig Anderson family, SKAP (The Swedish Society of Popular Music Composers) and STIM (The Swedish Performing Rights Society). The task of scrutinizing nominations submitted and selecting the ultimate laureates is undertaken by an Award Committee comprising of experienced members of the music industry.



Laureates from a wide range of countries, cultures and continents have received the Prize in Stockholm from the hand of His Majesty, King Carl XVI.

Sir Paul McCartney, Dizzy Gillespie, Witold Lutoslawski, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Quincy Jones, Mstislav Rostropovitch, Sir Elton John, Joni Mitchell, Pierre Boulez, Bruce Springsteen, Eric Ericson, Ray Charles, Ravi Shankar, Iannis Xenakis, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Isaac Stern, Burt Bacharach, Robert Moog, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Sofia Gubaidulina, Miriam Makeba, Keith Jarrett, B.B. King, György Ligeti, Gilberto Gil and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Valery Gergiev, Led Zeppelin, Steve Reich and Sonny Rollins have all been bestowed with the Prize since its inception in 1992. In 1992, the Baltic States were also awarded the Prize to encourage them in their work for protection of copyright.

Last night was the music industry's big night in Hollywood. The 50th Annual Grammy Awards produced few surprises. Let's listen in for more.

Legendary crooner Tony Bennett and Natalie Cole handed the "Best Record of the Year" award to Amy Winehouse for "Back to Black."

"Best Song of the Year" winner was also Winehouse for the chart-topping tune "Rehab." And to top it off Winehouse also walked away with "Best New Artist" of the year. It was an emotional night for her to say the least.

"To Ray Ray and Joe, ten years this year, Ray Ray and Joe. To Mark Ronson and Salon Remy. To my mum and dad. For my Blake, my Blake incarcerated. And for London, this is for London, cause Camden Town is burning down."

The "Best Album of the Year" award went to Herbie Hancock for "River: The Joni Letters." It also won "Best Contemporary Jazz Album." Hancock praised his musical idols for their inspiration.

"And I'd like to thank the academy for courageously breaking the mould this time. (Applause.) And in doing so, honor the giants upon whose shoulders I stand. Some of whom Miles Davis and John Coltrane."

Alicia Keys was the winner of the "Best Female R&B Performer" award. She now has nearly a dozen Grammys to her name.

"I have to thank you so much, first to God, because God has brought me through such a tremendous journey. I want to, I want to thank you for that. I have to thank my angels that surround me all the time in heaven,
especially my grandmother, who's with me every day. I have to thank all of the people that love me and support me in every way."

American Idol alumni Carrie Underwood performed her hit single, "Before He Cheats." That earned her "Best Country Song of the Year" and "Best Female Country Vocal Performance" Grammys this year.

Kanye West won four Grammys, putting him in second place behind Amy Winehouse. He led all Grammy contenders with eight nominations going into the Grammys this year.

Producer George Martin and his son Giles won "Best Compilation Soundtrack Album For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media" for The Beatles tribute album "Love." It features music compiled and
remixed for the Cirque du Soleil show in Las Vegas of the same name.

[Ringo Starr, Music Legend]:
"My name is Ringo. A long time ago, we made these records with my good friends John, Paul and George. And, uh, George Martin was involved then. And now George Martin and his son Giles are involved again, and they did a great job on this music. And with Cirque du Soleil it turned into a beautiful dream."

Earlier, Hollywood actor Tom Hanks introduced a tribute to The Beatles, describing their music as a revolution which "changed the history of our planet."
