Bill Bixby starred as "The Magician" in this 1973-1974 TV series. The music is by Garbage: "The World is Not Enough" from the James Bond movie by the same title. Tony Blake (Bixby) was a James Bond type.

Behind-the-scenes: This video was edited "blind" because of a problem with the equipment (WMM's preview pane working at less than 25% capacity and freezing then crashing every few minutes) and took well over 100 hours to edit. It required endless publishing of tiny second clips to test for matching of music and repeated redoing. Unlike the Todd Crespi tribute (The Magician music video #2)this one was done all by hand and not by the software, except for 2 brief clips (7 & 11 seconds respectively).

Bill Bixby is better known for "The Incredible Hulk" 1978 TV series. David Banner fans: sorry no hulk outs here.

First time ever played in concert... First track off their new album "Narrow Stairs" out on May 13th

Eighteen miles south of the village of Carmel is the beautiful Bixby Creek Canyon. Spanning the mouth of the canyon over 700 feet across is one of the world's highest single span arch bridges, the Bixby Bridge. If you have ever made the scenic trip down Highway 1 south of Carmel-by-the-Sea, you know this bridge. You can't help but pull the car over and snap a photo of this beautiful sight. You also can't help but wonder what secrets the river, steep canyon and beach 260 feet below hold.

Now is your opportunity not only to find out, but to have access to it every day!. At the bottom of the canyon, behind a private gate there are a handful of roughly 2 acre parcels of land that rarely become available on the real estate market. This is one of those rare opportunities!

Dear Madam: I have been shown in the files of the War Department a statement of the Adjutant-General of Massachusetts that you are the mother of five sons who have died gloriously on the field of battle. I feel how weak and fruitless must be any words of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering to you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

It was later learned Mr. Lincoln had been misinformed as to the number of Mrs. Bixby's sons who had been killed. She had actually lost only two sons in the war. SGT CHARLES N. BIXBY was killed May 3, 1863. Pvt. Oliver Cromwell Bixby was killed July 30, 1864.


I didn't know until recently about this letter. I had written about a fictional SGT from a more recent time, but it is interesting to note.

This video is a tribute to that fellow soldier that you draw your strength, courage and confidence from during war time, until you deveolp your own.
