The fish are not shy, and out beyond the wall, in the blue, a spotted eagle ray will invariably make an appearance. The Turks & Caicos Explorer hosted the ScubaCore crew for a week of archetypical Caribbean diving in crystal clear blue water. Some of the walls here are gradually sloping, and some drop off into thousands of feet of water. Deep-water gorgonians, corals, and sponges grow on the walls like vines on the side of an old building, and the eagle rays soar by like pterodactyl-inspired fantasies. Groupers in cleaning stations are plentiful, nestled on top of sponges or under ledges. On top of the reef, stingrays, hamlets and turtles are common sights.
