Sweet Georgia Brown Dickenson Vic 1978

At one of the Peter Appleyard shows in 1978 or '79 trombonist Vic Dickenson is being featured. He plays a verse of a famous jazztune.
I sat in awe, "where is this going" It eventually became Sweet Georgia Brown.
There is a nice trombone solo by Ian McDougall as well.... and of course don't forget the beautiful sax work by Moe Koffman

S'posin' Dickenson Vic 1978

Vic (Victor) Dickenson (August 6, 1906 - November 16, 1984) was an African-American jazz trombonist. Dickenson's career started out in the 1920s and led him through musical partnerships with such legends as Count Basie and Sidney Bechet. Also a soloist of wide acclaim, Vic Dickenson was known for the distinctive sound he coaxed out of the trombone.
In these clips Vic was the featured guest in one of Peter Appleyard's TV jazz shows recorded in Toronto in 1978 or 79.
Peter selected some fine musicians as a back-up group. In this tune is a beautiful solo and great musical response work by trumpet player Guido Basso

This uniquely evocative music has been recorded for the first time in its entirety by Haydn Dickenson. The album, EAST, has met with considerable critical acclaim.

DHUN (Study no 7 in an Eastern Idiom)was composed in 1992, and is the composer's own transcription of the piece he was commissioned to write by Yehudi Menuhin and Ravi Shankar, giving rise to their ground-breaking recordings together, WEST MEETS EAST

The Beyblade Regional Qualifying Tournament is underway as Tyson, Max, Ray and even Kenny are entered to see if they can dethrone Kai, the reigning champion. As our announcers, Brad Best and A.J. Topper rev up the crowd, Kenny is first into battle but without a Bit Beast in his blade, he falls quickly to Kai. The tension builds as Tyson takes on the Blade Sharks in the next round. His biggest competition is against Carlos who breaks team ranks and decides to go it on his own. As the battle progresses, Tyson realizes Carlos is the toughest competitor he's ever faced, Yet with the odds stacked against him, Tyson manages to squeak through to the next round and still to come in the tournament… both Ray and the undefeated Kai.
