"Scotland the Brave" (Scottish Gaelic: Alba an Aigh) is a patriotic song and one of the main contenders to be considered as a national anthem of Scotland. In June 2006, the song came second to Flower of Scotland in an online poll with more than 10,000 votes to determine the nation's favourite unofficial "anthem". The song is used to represent Scotland in the Commonwealth Games.

Scotland the Brave is also the authorised pipe band march of The British Columbia Dragoons of the Canadian Forces and is played during the Pass in Review at Friday parades at The Citadel. In 2006, it was adopted as the regimental quick march of the Royal Regiment of Scotland.

This is Amazing grace on the bagpipes. Since this song has no words, or this particular recording of the song has no words, and it is not really a song to put with my usual AMV'S {I use a cartoon/anime for my music videos} I decided to put some of my drawings on here,

It started raining, we all ran for cover in an unsuspecting cafe but the lone piper lead the singing, just before we left on the march to the ground.

These drummers are from a pipe band but with their juggling skills they could work in a circus.

During his research into old folk songs from the southern canton of Ticino, a Swiss musician came across a long forgotten instrument, the piva. Ilario Garbani learned how to play this ancient bagpipe, and has helped revive an interest in it...

I still haven't come up with a good name for that shield.

North Carolina has more citizens of Scottish ancestry than any other state or nation on Earth… including Scotland. Scottish Highlanders started migrating to North Carolina as early as 1729, and were later followed by lowlanders and Scots-Irish settlers as well. Today our landscape ( from the Cape Fear region and into the Blue Ridge Parkway) is dotted with constant reminders of these early Scottish settlers; from street names to church names and town names to surnames, there is no denying that Scotland’s people had a huge influence on North Carolina’s landscape and culture. Every year, North Carolina hosts one of the most well known highland games in the United States. The Highland Games at Grandfather Mountain provides the descendants of North Carolina’s Scottish settlers a chance to get in touch with their roots, and offers everyone else a chance to experience a dizzying display of all things Scottish.

The Highland Games at Grandfather Mountain happen every July, and continue to grow in attendance from year to year. If you missed out this year, be sure to be one of the thirty thousand attendants in 2008. Oh, and if you aren’t wearing a kilt, you’ll feel out of place. Seriously.
