Leaders from the worlds top 20 economies have gathered in Washington to discuss how best to tackle the global financial crisis.

The emergency summit is already being compared to a key post-World War II ecomomic settlement known as Bretton Woods.

The issue is now expected to be shelved until November 14, when a summit between Russia and Europe is held in Nice. 2- New economics rules and financial organisations as the USA has lost its economic supremacy. The economic crisis of 2008 is rooted in "global imbalances", whereby the US borrowed too much, funded by Asian savings. Globalised financial markets then transmitted the American led crisis around the world.

Resolving this crisis, will require rebalancing the global economy. In order words the US cannot have the economic supremacy anymore.

3- New partnerships agreements for commercial rules amongst Blocks of power instead of trying to absorb Asia into the EU. The Shanghai Co-operation Organisation will not be absorb by the EU and the newly formed South American Union will not be absorb by the US.

If the leaders of the world have this three main points very clear the world have a future.

The President of France Nicolas Sarkosy was for 3 hours today trying to convince George Bush to do a G8 summit to discuss about reforming the financial international system but the US is not enthusiastic about the idea.

The Bretton Woods system was created towards the end of World War II and involved fixed exchange rates with the US dollar as the key currency - but also a role for gold linked to the dollar at $35/ounce. The system began to falter in the 1960s because of an excess of dollars flowing out of the US which foreign central banks had to absorb. A run on gold in 1968 was stemmed by a patch on Bretton Woods known as the two-tier gold system. All of this was ended unilaterally by the Nixon decision. After a brief attempt to create a modified fixed exchange rate system, the world moved to flexible rates.

Now Bush did not compromise to do any reform beyond the US established system!

The European Union wants a world market system regulated by the International Monetary Fund (IMF)! And the quicker the better it must be done in December 2008 at the latest.

Nicolas Sarkosy talked about the 'New world' that needs to be moralised, organised and regulated. He explained the need to learn from experience because if this is not done then every country will act alone so greediness, fanatism and confrontational logic will prevail making this world worse than the one we have known.

A modified US like Bretton Woods will not come. The US must understand that now they are partners not the boss anymore. The EU by nationalising the Banks has questioned the US free market policy in the world.

Now the European Union is not to be pushy either! There are more countries than deserve to participate and that may not agree with the IMF control idea! Because who control the IMF which is already an obsolete good for nothing organisation.

The South American Nations (Unasur)and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation must organise a summit URGENTLY to present a regional position regarding this point before the European Union do as they please! So HURRY UP South America, HURRY UP China, HURRY UP Russia. The International Monetary Fund must be updated and DEMOCRATIC !!!! Not control by some countries and the others to be enslaved! HURRY UP!!
