Georgians protest Russian invasion in front of UN

A correspondent working for Georgian state television was injured in a shooting incident outside the town of Gori on Thursday.

The reporter was about to go live to air when the shot was fired, slightly injuring her in the left arm. The correspondent and her camerman were forced to run for cover behind a vehicle. The injured reporter was given first aid by a Reuters Televison producer who was nearby.

The incident was a stark reminder of the dangers around the town of Gori where reports have come in over the last few days of looters and armed Ossetian irregulars moving in and out of the area. Russian troops and armour moved in or around at least three Georgian towns on Thursday, ignoring demands by Washington that Moscow respect Georgia's territorial integrity.

Authorities in South Ossetia say Georgian troops have shelled the road being used for evacuating people from the conflict zone, according to Russian Interfax news agency. Attacks are continuing in the South Ossetian region, despite claims from Georgia that it was imposing a ceasefire.

Georgian military aircraft are reportedly bombing South Ossetian positions. The latest development follows an exchange of heavy fire overnight which is said to have left numerous casualties in Georgia's breakaway republic of South Ossetia, according to the republic's Health Ministry.

Georgia is reportedly moving tanks, artillery and troops to the border with its breakaway republic of South Ossetia. It follows days of shelling and skirmishes between the sides. Russia is leading diplomatic efforts to stop a full-scale conflict.

Dance is performed by Rustavi ensemble. First part of this dance is called Karachokheli, while second is Kintauri, often called bagdaduri. Some of you might be mistaken - It's not Shalakho!!! P.S. Last solo performed in kintauri is great Fridon Sulaberidze himself.

Became Tbilisi Opera House principal tenor and performed internationaly within the Soviet Block countries.
Partnered Jerome Hines(Faust),Kim Borg(bass), Dorothy Kirsten(Alfredo in "La Traviata") Lia Hubik, Nicolae Herlea and many other internationaly acclaimed singers.
Was among other prominent Georgians invited to USA by Jimmy Carter and recieved honorary Georgian Citizenship(USA).
Named as a People's Artist of Georgia still ocasionally performs at the age of 78.
