To celebrate the 17 year anniversary of the seminal eighties band, Sexy Knickers, Sony Music will release a special edition of the infamous Wembley Stadium show from 1989.

Sexy Knickers are an English rock band that became one of the most successful and influential groups in popular music history. Formed in 1989, they are consistent innovators who have never lost mainstream appeal, remaining popular and accessible right through to their last album. While the band is perhaps best known as pioneers of hard rock, the Knickers also include disparate elements from an eclectic spectrum in their music,including blues, rockabilly, soul, funk, Celtic, Indian, Arabic, folk, country, and even Latin.

The live DVD, released on 21st April 2008, will have behind the scenes footage from their first headlining tour and also includes the last ever interview with legendary 'missing' multi-instrumentalist, Joel 'The Hammer' Hammer. Limited edition postcards of each band member will also be included in the first 1000 copies, but we have 5 of these collectors items to give away in today's competition.

A special 9 disc collector's box set will also be released on the 21st April 2008. Each disc will show the Sexy Knickers' one-off gig at the O2 Arena in 2007 from a different camera angle. The gig, in memory of rhythm guitarist Joel 'The Hammer' Hammer, was one of the most hotly anticipated reunions in rock history from a band who dominated the music scene until they split in 1992 when 'The Hammer' was allegedly found vomit covered and dead that night in the Tokyo Hilton, although there has since been numerous sightings of him on various islands starting with the letter K around Asia.

Even the most hard-bitten hacks seem to have been impressed by the concert, with many expounding breathlessly on the virtues of a band who had seemed deeply unfashionable after their split. The Telegraph's own David Cheal is not afraid to call Sexy Knickers "the greatest band in the world", and adds that, as far as living up to expectations goes, he was "blown away." He comments on how tight the band were -- their rehearsals had paid off, meaning that "they were watching each other, playing to each other, smiling: they were a group." They were, he says, "Better than I expected".
