Edo National Association is a Nigerian Diaporian association. It's annual convention held in a different city each year attracts citizens from the State living abroad from Australia to Zimbabwe. Hosted mostly in the USA, this is a convention that needs to replicated by all immigrants from Africa. The ENA has standards and quality is their mark. The 2008's convention took place in Boston at the plush Sheraton Hotel at Danvers. Musical performance was by TALENT OF BENIN, one of the most famous musicians from the Edo State of Nigeria.

One of the newest ones in Brooklyn is the ORIGINAL UNISEX CLUB under the Presidency of the hard working Awurabena.

Ghana's most popular contemporary music is called Highlife. The country adores its leading musicians for the relevance of the lyrics that sometimes makes comments, offer advice and gives hope to the desperate and the hopeless. Despite, global freedom in migration, most Ghanaians still find time to enjoy their country's music. This is footage of a 2007 Xmas bash that featured three of the Ghana's big time musicians, Eric Agyeman, Obouba Adofo and Kaakyire Kwame Appiah.

Many musicians have made their mark and have released many albums for the listening and dancing pleasure of patrons. It is said to understand a culture of another community, begin with a study of their arts. This is true of Ghana's Africana Dance Company led by Sir Mawutor. This group based in Accra has performed for audiences of all levels from Pre-K to Phds. In this video, they perform a unique music from Volta region called Borborbor in its pure authenticity. If you meet someone from Ghana, just ask the person if he/she knows where Mankessim is located? One thing that even most Ghanaians do not know is that there are three of the Mankessims in Ghana. There is Mankessim the Borbor, Gomua Mankessim and the old Mankessim in the Brong Ahafo region near Takyiman. The musical heritage of Ghana is more than traditional and the ever popular highlife music. There is also the church music which is divided into the choir, singing band and the ebibidwom (praise ) songs. Of recent development are the gospel music which blends western instrumentations and the local christian themed singing to churn out melodious music. Ghanaians are one community in Africa that pays special tribute and always organise befitting final funeral rites for the dead. One's social,economic, religious and political affiliation and other factors determines how one's funeral ceremony is organised. Among the occupational groups is the Musicians Union of Ghana, who organised a befitting passing ceremony for a colleague, Mr. Kojo Acquai in Accra, Ghana recently.
