We were walking up Sibley Street during the Republican National Convention (9-01-08 1:36pm) and managed to capture what I believe to be a Anti-War march on camera. What came next was a little shocking, but ended peacefully.

Here are 3 news stories from April 13, 1992 when an anti-nuclear weapons protester accosted the former president. Watch how Secret Service brings his ass down!!!

Three people were arrested for peacefully protesting at the Port of Tacoma at about 12:30 AM Monday morning, March 5, 2007. They were protesting the shipment of Stryker Brigade armored vehicles from Fort Lewis to the illegal war and occupation in Iraq. Caitlin Esworthy was arrested within second after the Tacoma Police Disorder Response Team confronted the protest. Another person, Navy veteran Wally Cuddeford, was then brutally dragged on his stomach (and tasered three times) just after his arrest was captured in this video. Another protester (Jeff Berryhill) was later shot by a rubber bullet as he nonviolently held a sign at the edge of the street (a better view is in the Video Response). Police also aimed shotguns and tasers directly at protesters. The Tacoma police appeared to become less violent after the TV media finally arrived. All charges against the three arrestees were dropped the next day. These protests were part of a continuation of actions begun last year against the use of the Port of Olympia to ship offensive weapons to Iraq. The military at Fort Lewis decided this year to avoid the use of the Port of Olympia (when Thurston County asked it to pay any security and litigation costs), but rather to ship arms at the Port of Tacoma in Pierce County. Both last year's protests and this year's are not directed at the troops, but rather to support them by ending the war as soon as possible and getting them home this year. Thousands of protesters in Thailand are still staked out at Bangkoks major airport. The protest has put air traffic at a standstill. Protestors say this is the "final battle" to force the government to step aside.


Many youths are armed with iron bars, golf clubs and stakes. The supporters of the People's Alliance of Democracy, or PAD, camping outside the terminal doors are unapologetic. Protestors say their aim is to remove a
government that they believe is a puppet of the former leader Thaksin Shinawatra.

"I don't know how long we will stay. It all depends on the government. If the government is really concerned about the people and the tourists, they should hurry up and resign. Then everything can end. They should stop hurting people."

Somchai is due to return from an Asia-Pacific summit in Peru this afternoon, amidst rumours he may declare a state of emergency. But a government spokesman says Somchai will not land at Bangkoks Airport.

Thousands of passengers have slept overnight on benches. Many tourists say theyre annoyed that airport staff fled when the PAD demonstrators invaded the terminal.

"I'm quite bored because I want my holiday and I'm sitting in the airport."

Army chief Anupong Paochinda is scheduled to hold a news conference later on today to address the crisis. Anupong has said he will not launch a coup, although he has publicly pressed Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat to step down.

In awareness of the cult's practice of "Fair Game," they wore masks to protect their identities.

Upon arriving six blocks from the protest area, mother and children were blocked in their automobile by a sleazy looking private investigator who came up inches from the passenger side of the vehicle and took photos of the children.

Later, the family approached the Subway restaurant on Sunset Boulevard. Seeing a "NO ANONYMOUS" sign, they took a step back. Another adult protester attempted to open the door of the Subway restaurant, and was forcibly stopped by a Scientologist handler who pulled the door shut, refusing entry to the children. In the moments afterward, the scientologist used physical force to bar protesters from opening the door. She claimed Subway "Wants the Sign Up," and that she was simply enforcing it. "Respect the Sign!" she told the young girls outside.

Then she laughed nervously. "I'm not shutting it, I'm just ... OPENING it for you!" She then told the young girls that they could come into Subway, but only if they would "TAKE OFF YOUR MASKS."

Not. Going. To Happen.

These three young ladies know more about the Cult of Scientology than most Scientologists.

And after this experience -- well, they know even more.

Portions of this video (notably the physical scuffle) have been omitted from public view in the event that a criminal complaint is lodged. No sense in tainting potential jurors.

The images are shocking. Armoured tanks plow into crowds of people, flames from burning buses light up the night sky, and bleeding bodies are rushed to hospital. For weeks student protesters in Beijing's Tiananmen Square have been demonstrating for political reform of China's communist government. A declaration of martial law has failed to quell the protests, and now the government has called in the military. Death is all around as the CBC's Tom Kennedy reports.

The massacre begins shortly after midnight as tanks and armoured personnel carriers roll through the streets, crushing hastily erected barricades and into Tiananmen Square. After launching tear gas and using loudspeakers to order people to leave, the army starts shooting. But the protesters fight back, beating army officers or simply standing their ground. They form human walls around foreign press to make sure the story gets out to the world.

An indelible image of courage, one lone protester facing down a tank in Beijing's Tiananmen Square, June 1989. He would become known simply as 'Tank Man' or 'The Unknown Rebel'. The massive student protests were brutally put down on June 4th when the Chinese army attacked with tanks and trucks, firing indescriminately at the unarmed protesters, killing and injuring thousands. The Unknown Rebel confronted the tank column next day as the army withdrew. Neither his identity nor his fate have ever been established, reported by some to have been executed, and by others to be still alive.
